This incident will remain in my memory for a long time to come.
Well, this happened to me at Kuta near the Beachwalk Shopping Mall. It was a normal day, amongst the maddening crowds and the hustle bustle of shopping fully tired me out.
After shopping in the mall, i did a little walking along the Kuta Area and then was going to the nearby Mc Donald’s which was at a stone’s throw distance from the mall.
Suddenly, i was approached by a spiky haired lean guy who asked me “Hash”. I replied “Excuse me”. He then said “Weed”.
I just ignored him and walked off him. But he was following me and kept saying “low price”.
I got really scared because i was in a foreign land. And he may even trap me. And who knows what weapon he had. That too, it was well past midnight and the crowd thinned out by then.
Still, i gathered out my courage and looked him straight in the eyes and very sternly with the most demanding deep voice that i could make told him “I don’t take all this rubbish”. Please leave me alone this instant and stop bothering me.
Luckily, he did not bother me further. He went away without a word.
That was the shadiest and creepiest experience for me at Bali.
A side note: Possession of any form of narcotics is the death penalty in Indonesia. Be careful.
